Elephant Back Safari in Corbett
The elephants take you through the jungles
of Corbett Tiger Reserve. The main attraction
of the ride is that you get to experience
the jungle in its full glory. The ride
is through the village that is dependent
on the jungle, by the might Ramganga
river. The wildlife that you will see
from the elephant back would also differ
as you will go through different terrains.
You will be able to see some mammal
species such as wild elephant, barking
deer, ghoral, sambhar, rhesus monkey,
Wild boar, jackal, porcupine, langur,
civets etc. The chances are that you
may see a leopard or a Tiger. The Gharial,
Mugger or fresh water crocodile, turtles,
otters and a great range of fishes like,
goonch, mahseer etc. are seen in and
around Ramganga river. Corbett Tiger
Reserve is also a bird watching paradise
and the elephant gives good access to
